Mark Oliver is a New Zealand and Australian qualified musculoskeletal physiotherapist and a clinical educator with more than 30 years experience. He is Australia’s most experienced accredited Mulligan Concept teacher and consults in Busselton, Western Australia. Mark completed a research Master of Applied science examining lumbar spine biomechanics, has published in international journals, written five textbook chapters, was a lecturer in anatomy, pathology, diagnostics and clinical practice on the Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Physiotherapy and Sports Physiotherapy courses at Curtin University. In 2009 the Australian Physiotherapy Association (WA) presented Mark with an award for “”an outstanding contribution to physiotherapy education".
Making extensive use of mobilization with movement (MWM) clinical reasoning principles, Mark has developed innovative new methods of functional evaluation and treatment for the pelvis and orofacial region and has conducted more than 300 conference presentations, lectures and clinical workshops on these and related subjects internationally.
In collaboration with Jillian McDowell, a New Zealand based Mulligan Concept Teacher, Mark is currently writing a textbook “Functional examination and treatment of pelvic movement disorders using Mobilisation With Movement principles”. A section of this book will cover identification and active rehabilitation of persistent pelvic sporting injuries.
Mark is also actively facilitating and encouraging development of research into the examination and treatment methods that he has developed.
