Diane Lee


Diane graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation degree in 1976.  She has been a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy since 1981 and completed her certification in Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) in 2001.  Diane is the owner, director, educator and physiotherapist at Diane Lee & Associates (www.dianelee.ca) in White Rock, BC, Canada.

Diane is well known for her clinical work on the thorax and pelvic girdle.  She has been a keynote and conference speaker at many conferences including The World Congress on Low Back and Pelvic Pain, has contributed chapters to several books, produced DVD’s, and self-published the book The Thorax – An Integrated Approach.  The Pelvic Girdle, was first published in 1989 and the latest edition (2011, 4th ed.) presents a new model, The Integrated Systems Model for Pain & Disability (Lee & Lee), and is the foundation of the series of courses offered by Diane Lee.  She holds the North American patent for an innovative sacroiliac belt – The Com-Pressor and is the innovator of the new belt for pregnancy – The Baby Belly Belt. With respect to research, she is currently investigating the behavior of the abdominal wall in women with diastasis rectus abdominis and has received a grant from the Clinical Center of Research Excellence from the University of Queensland to further these studies.

Diane recently completed a 200 hour Yoga teacher training following her recent passion of Hatha Yoga in the method of Anusara.  Future goals are to integrate the principles of this Yoga practice/instruction with the Integrated Systems Model to further engage, experience and empower all she teaches and treats.
