Learning Goals

Upon successful completion of this webinar, the participants will be able to:

  • Understand the anatomy and biomechanics of the ACL
  • Develop an understanding of the mechanics of various knee injuries and specific tissue injuries
  • Demonstrate and organize a clinical examination of the knee testing following an ACL injury
  • Interpret the information obtained from the clinical examination and develop a treatment plan
  • Design an effective and appropriate rehabilitation program based on current clinical and scientific research for the following isolated ACL injury & ACL injury with concomitant injuries.
  • Integrate the information presented in this course and demonstrate problem-solving skills
Behavioral Objectives
  1. Upon completion of the course, the participant will be able to evaluate 4 different tissue type allografts used in the reconstruction of the ACL.
  2. Upon completion of the course, the participant will be able to identify 4 modifications of a post-operative protocol for an athlete who has an ACL deficiency after a concomitant meniscal repair.
  3. Upon completion of the course, the participant will be able to defend the slower rehabilitation approach for an athlete who undergoes a hamstring autograft versus the rehabilitation approach for an athlete who undergoes a patellar tendon bone autograft.
